Parents'/Carers' Meeting Wednesday 26 March 2008
Following the meeting for the children to come up with ideas for the club, parents/carers had a meeting to talk about the direction they would like the club to go in.
The following were discussed:
General:
What is working and what isn’t
Have a circle time with names – bonding of group
Badges with names
Avoid anarchy
Children create ground rules – put them on website
Alison – non-violent communication
Resolving conflicts
Cooperative games
How to best use the space
Ideas for activities:
Tai chi would be good
Languages – Italian offered
Alternatives to activities so that no children bored
Sign language – Sing and sign
Alternative storytime for older ones at end
Drama – Julie’s partner is a drama teacher
Choir – Tina, Jan and Tania can play guitar to accompany
Nature club – Gaby talked about Woodland Trust Nature Detectives pack, weekly challenge
Woodland sessions in Queens Wood – Annabel and Birgit would start this on Friday mornings with den making, tree climbing etc
We hope that many of these ideas will be carried forward in the coming weeks.
