ANIMATED POETRY
In April we’ve got the performance poet Paul Lyalls coming in to do some mind-popping verse and comedy for us. Paul’s work is funny, fast-moving, hip, accessible, rhythmic and read – The Independent reckons it’s “Poetry with attitude…somewhere between Bradford and the Lower East Side” – We’ll also be screening an animated interpretation of William Blake’s The Tyger, the old-skool hiphop-poetry of DJ Format (accompanied by break-dancing furry creatures_ and the W H Auden verses for Night Mail which celebrate the postal run from London to Glasgow by express steam-train (just to keep us anoraks happy).
